iPad for our Freshman Update ***

 Thought I should provide an update on what is happening with our iPad option for our freshman students in our Connected Across Campus program. The deadline that we have imposed upon the freshman is for them to make their selection for either the MacBook or the iPad by July 15th. Many have made their selection and the percentage is now up to 12% that are selecting the iPad. This is a bit more then what I expected and we confident that they have made an informed decision. Those selecting the iPad will find rewards, but it is still a shame that Apple has not opened the door more for the iPad to more effectively support the college student.

We have been talking to our print quota and control provider PaperCut and they are hopeful for a web based solution, but it doesn’t really matter since without a file system you could only hope for printing from apps. Oh well the iPad is what it is. And it is good, just not good for Higher Education. However, the concept is perfect so I am still waiting for the Android to force Apple into offering a full featured iPad, let’s call it the iPad Pro.
